Terms of Use

Last Updated: June, 2026

Welcome to SaleScout. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SaleScout mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By creating an account, posting a listing, or using SaleScout, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

‍ ‍

1. About SaleScout

SaleScout is a platform that helps users discover and post local, in-person sales, including yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, moving sales, community sales, and similar events.

SaleScout provides a place for users to share and discover sale information. SaleScout is not the seller, organizer, owner, or operator of individual sales listed on the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SaleScout. If you are under the age of 18, you may use SaleScout only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By using SaleScout, you represent that you are legally able to agree to these Terms.

3. Accounts

You do not need an account to browse available sales. However, you must create an account to create, manage, or delete a sale listing.

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for maintaining the security of your login information. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.

SaleScout may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create safety concerns for users.

4. Creating a Listing

When creating a listing, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, including the sale title, date, time, location, description, and any photos or details you choose to include.

You may only create listings for sales that are legitimate, local, and in-person.

At this time, listings cannot be edited after they are published. If you need to make a change, you must delete the existing listing and create a new listing with the correct information.

You are responsible for deleting your listing if your sale is canceled, postponed, moved, or no longer taking place.

5. Listing Rules

You may not use SaleScout to post, promote, or share:

  • False, misleading, inaccurate, expired, or duplicate listings

  • Online-only sales, shipping-only sales, or listings not connected to a local in-person event

  • Illegal goods, services, or activities

  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, or other regulated weapons

  • Alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, vaping products, cannabis, illegal drugs, or drug-related items

  • Stolen, counterfeit, or unauthorized goods

  • Adult content, sexually explicit material, or adult services

  • Hate speech, harassment, threats, discriminatory content, or content that promotes violence

  • Personal information about another person without their permission

  • Spam, scams, deceptive content, or fraudulent activity

  • Content that violates another person’s rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights

SaleScout may remove listings, limit visibility, suspend accounts, or take other action when we believe content violates these Terms, creates a safety concern, or may harm users or the platform.

6. User Safety and Transactions

SaleScout does not verify every listing, seller, shopper, item, sale location, or transaction. Users are responsible for using good judgment when attending a sale, communicating with others, or purchasing items.

SaleScout does not process transactions between shoppers and sellers and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, condition, price, availability, or delivery of any items offered at a sale.

You agree that any interaction, purchase, sale, or arrangement between users is solely between those users. SaleScout is not responsible for disputes, injuries, losses, damages, or claims related to a listing, sale, item, transaction, or interaction with another user.

If you believe a listing is inaccurate, unsafe, expired, canceled, inappropriate, or otherwise violates these Terms, please use the Report Sale feature in the app.

7. Location and Directions

SaleScout may use location information to help users find nearby sales and may provide links to third-party map or navigation services.

Location information and directions may not always be accurate. You are responsible for confirming the address, route, parking, traffic conditions, and safety of any location before traveling.

8. Content You Provide

You retain ownership of the content you submit to SaleScout, including listing details and photos. However, by submitting content, you give SaleScout a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and use that content as needed to operate, promote, improve, and provide the Services.

You represent that you have the right to post the content you submit and that it does not violate these Terms or the rights of another person.

9. Reports and Moderation

Users may report listings that are inaccurate, expired, canceled, unsafe, inappropriate, or otherwise in violation of these Terms.

SaleScout may review reports and take action in its discretion, including removing a listing or restricting an account. SaleScout is not required to remove any listing or take action in response to every report.

10. Intellectual Property

SaleScout, including its name, logo, design, features, content, and other materials, is owned by SaleScout or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or otherwise misuse any part of the Services without prior written permission from SaleScout.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

SaleScout may include links to third-party services, including map providers, app stores, websites, or navigation tools. SaleScout does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, policies, or practices.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

SaleScout is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, SaleScout makes no warranties, express or implied, about the Services, including the accuracy, reliability, availability, security, or completeness of listings or other content.

We do not guarantee that SaleScout will always be available, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SaleScout and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services.

This includes damages or losses related to listings, sales, transactions, items, travel, user interactions, injuries, property damage, lost profits, lost data, or other claims.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SaleScout and its owners, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Services, your listings or content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of SaleScout after updated Terms are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Termination

You may stop using SaleScout at any time. You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us at support@salescoutapp.com.

SaleScout may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, created a safety risk, or harmed SaleScout or other users.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
